My name is Edward Boreth and I am an ACE Certified Personal Trainer.
I was not very active when I was younger. I had started and stopped exercising many times in my life, but I could never stay with it.
Eventually not exercising started to affect my health and I had to change. This time I started slow and easy. Now I did not go to the gym to pound away at weights trying to burn calories as I had done in the past. Now I was just trying to get a little better and stay healthy.
This changed everything for me.I could now stick with exercise. More importantly I was getting more energy to use throughout the day. I felt energized not exhausted. Going to the gym a few times a week and trying to lose weight is a losing proposition.
After nearly 20 years of exercise I became a Certified Personal Trainer so I could share what I had learned. Exercise is not just a way to lose weight or build muscle. Exercise is a necessary part of feeling good mentally.
Creating energy with exercise is great for creating energy, feeling good and it lets you do more to be more.
Consistent workouts are essential in order to achieve your fitness goals. Begin by activating dormant muscles with easy exercises. Finding a time and space to exercise consistently leads to success in the future. It doesn't need to be hard, but it needs to be consistent.
Once you consistently show up, we can begin to build a base for more exercise. Working large muscle groups as well as small. Using body weight to build balance and stability before adding too much resistance. Also beginning to start on cardio as well as resistance training.
Adding variable resistance to the exercise routine will start to push the muscles and build strength and power. Using variable weight to allow for flexibility so you don't over do it helping to avoid injury while improving. Picking up the pace with cardio training to improve.
As you advance through the stages, various changes occur, not just physically but mentally as well. Increase in mitochondria begins to improve your energy. Feel good hormones such as dopamine and serotonin begin to rise in the body making you feel better. Daily movement keeps the levels up, and improving and achieving more increases these levels and giving you more energy, a sense of accomplishment and a feeling of happiness.
